Swedish
Massage – The
foundation for most massage treatments today, it combines fluid strokes and
passive stretching movements to relax and soothe the body and mind. This gentle
massage increases circulation and aids in the release of toxins from the body.
Sports/Deep
Tissue Massage –
A therapeutic treatment where more pressure is applied to aid in the release of
tissues. Concentration on trouble spots can help to prevent injury and loss of
mobility. This type of massage can also boost your athletic performance and help
the recovery of muscle tissues.
Aromatherapy
– Can be added to
any of the treatments offered. This treatment utilizes the aromas of
“essential” oils distilled from plants to treat stress, anxiety, and a wide
range of other maladies. The oil is either massaged into the skin or inhaled,
and we have a wide variety to choose from. We also have a number of muscle
liniments and ointments that can be used in conjunction with massage. Extra charge applies.
Pre and Post-Natal Massage – This therapy is specifically designed for women who are currently pregnant or have recently given birth. We have a “prego pillow”, which allows a woman to comfortably lay face down into the ninth month of pregnancy. Massage can be very beneficial to both mother and child and is completely safe for both of you.
Reiki
– Ancient Tibetan healing system. Light hand placement of the practitioner is
used to channel healing energies to the recipient. This method is commonly used
to treat physical, emotional and mental maladies. Practitioners are trained in
different levels. This method is intended to assist the recipient in achieving
spiritual focus and clarity.
Hot
Stones Massage –
A unique Native-American healing ritual dating back 2000 years. It promotes a
sense of wellness and balance to the body. It uses hot basaltic and cold marble
stones. Clients are massaged from head to toe using the hands and the stones. $110 for 90 minutes.
Myofascial
Release – This
technique focuses on the fascia of the body. It is designed to free up the glued
or stuck places in the fascia known as “collagenous barriers”, which inhibit
movement and proper body alignment. These barriers are released by gentle and
intuitive stretching methods. Knowledge of trigger points enables the
practitioner to help relieve myofascial pain.
Craniosacral
Therapy – This
technique connects with rhythms of the cerebrospinal fluid as it moves around
the brain and spinal cord. It uses very gentle touch to manipulate the cranium,
sacrum, and other body parts to affect change in the flow of the fluid, joints
and fascia. A gentle touch guides the body to unwind trapped energy in a process
known as sonato/emotional release.
